WARNING THIS YEAR’S STORM OF THE CENTURY IS COMING! Or not but all the local school systems have called off for tomorrow. People… we live in the snow belt, we get lake effect snow, we should be used to this. Plus it doesn’t looks like it’s too crazy outside right now.
Is it me or are there just more snow days now then when I was a kid? I remember maybe twice getting off from school due to snow. Once for the Blizzard of 77 and again for a blizzard sometime in the early 80s. Is it the school districts are too afraid of getting sued by litigious parents (egged on by ambulance chasers) or insurance companies not wanting to have to pay out when a stupid parent, sends their kid out to wait for the bus in sub zero temperatures and get frost bite on their nose?
In my day we walked to school in the snow and it was uphill both ways.
