To Whom It May Concern,
I’ve lived in Lakewood for 47 years. The roads were better when Eisenhower was president.
Drive down Madison. Drive down Detroit. Drive down Clifton. Go ahead. I’ll wait. You’ll need a new axle by the time you hit Rocky River.
These aren’t potholes anymore. They’re craters. My neighbor lost a hubcap on Hilliard last Tuesday. Never found it. Probably halfway to the earth’s core by now.
I pay my taxes. I’ve paid them since Ford was in office — the president, not the truck, though I’ve bought plenty of those too and wrecked every one of them on your roads.
Fix it. Or don’t. But stop sending me surveys asking how you’re doing. You know how you’re doing.
Regards,
A Taxpayer Who’s Tired
