The MVP “Race to the Bottom”

I’ve noticed that new websites and apps often feel unfinished? Am I the only one? Right now, the world of web development feels like a “race to the bottom.” Everyone is in a huge hurry to be first, but nobody is taking the time to be the best.

This is the “MVP race.” MVP being Minimum Viable Product. It was originally a POC or Proof Of Concet model, which once you had something that was barely working and got buy in from all the stake holders you continue to make it a BIC Best In Class. Now it’s the finish line on some of these rushed to market products I’ve run across on the web, and AI is accelerating this as the standard now.

Instead of making an app that is simple but great, they make the bare minimum that is simple but meh. They release website or apps that are buggy, ugly, or missing important buttons just to launch.

Imagine buying a new video game that crashes every ten minutes because the creators didn’t want to wait to fix it, or just remember back to Cyberpunk 77 when that launched. Sheesh. Thats whats going on online.

Maybe this is more of the AI in everything rearing its ugly head again but I’m not downloading any more rogue apps from the Play Store… They’re barely working & chcoked full of ads.
