One of the best things about living in Cleveland, Ohio is the Metroparks. People call it the Emerald Necklace because it wraps around the city from the far west side to the far east side and down to the south.
Frederick Law Olmsted originally designed these parks. He wanted to create something like Central Park but spread across suburban and urban areas. Today the Cleveland Metroparks is a rare treasure. It offers escapes into the wilderness, hiking trails, biking trails, a winding river, beachfront parks, and two nature centers.
Riley (my dog) and I enjoy walks in the park and sometimes after dusk… I let him off the leash to run free. Just not on the days when we hear the coyotes.
